Subsidised Assessment Fee

In order to encourage more accommodation properties to become graded with either VisitEngland or the AA, the London Development Agency (LDA) will subsidise part of the cost of quality assessment. The subsidy is worth £250.

Eligibility

The subsidy is open to individual hotel, self catering and B&B premises within the 33 London Boroughs that have not participated in a grading scheme within the last 12 months and that apply for assessment before 31 March 2010.

The subsidy is not available to premises already in the grading scheme, those that are owned by a major international hotel chain or any business which has already exceeded the state aid limits of 200,000 euros (approx £130,000) over the past three years. Most independent franchise businesses based in London are likely to be eligible. If a business owns more than one property, the subsidy is payable for each separate assessment.
