The London Development Agency's (LDA) Tourism Business Support Programme, supported by Visit London, offers a range of free business support to help tourism businesses improve their quality, accessibility, resource efficiency and crisis management.

Accommodation Quality

Get London Graded. The LDA is encouraging ungraded accommodation businesses to become star rated in the national grading scheme run by the AA or VisitEngland. More information

Capital Stay. This online toolkit is designed to help smaller and medium-sized accommodation businesses improve the quality of their operation and reach new markets. It contains practical business ideas, video interviews and quick reference fact sheets on key business topics. Available in pdf and word formats. More information

Green Tourism for London

Green Tourism for London is a membership scheme targeted at hotels, guesthouses, attractions and event venues. It is designed to help you reduce energy costs, improve environmental performance and, by awarding you a Bronze, Silver or Gold, to prove your credentials to consumers. Businesses as diverse as the 02, Claridge's, The Bingham Hotel, The Cavendish Conference Centre and the Arcola Theatre are members. More information

London Open to All offers a package of free advice, workshops, subsidised training and access audits to help tourism businesses become fully accessible to visitors. More information

Tourism Skills for London

The LDA is sponsoring a number of programmes to improve skills and customer service in the London hospitality and tourism sector in the run up to 2012. A new skills strategy was launched in December 2009. More information

London Listening 

Measuring what our visitors think of us and helping to resolve problems is easier now that the LDA and Visit London have launched the new central, advertised complaints handling service. More information

The LDA is offering crisis management advice to help tourism businesses prepare for the unexpected, with free workshops and a downloadable toolkit, Business As Usual.
